The Many Colours Of Decra Glow

Decra Glow® self adhesive colour film are the best available in today's market. Used in conjunction with Decra Led® Self Adhesive Led strip, it is possible to create windows of charm and character that plain glass can never match, at a fraction of the cost of traditional leaded lights. With its highly distinctive marbled effects, Decra Glow® makes a flat scene come alive. Simple fanlight designs or complicated designs for door panels or picture windows in houses, public houses, restaurants and shopping malls are being asked for in growing numbers by a market segment which is less price sensitive than that of plain windows. The combined use of Decra Glow® and Decra Led® means that this demand can be satisfied efficiently and at surprisingly low cost. Decra Glow® is manufactured from premium quality polyester film, incorporating highly efficient U.V. filters to protect against fading. Polyester film does not shrink, as is the case with cheaper vinyl films , and because the colour is protected by a polyester laminate, the film is solvent resistent, and highly scratch resistent. Decra Glow® is available from stock in over 150 colours. The range includes Opaque colours, and Cathedral and Background colours which are transparent. All colours are available as plain or marbled. In addition, special effect films are available, simulating etched and patterned glass. The Combined application of Decra Glow® and Decra Led® has been tested to the requirements of British Standard 5713 in the double glazing industry, passing with flying colours. The base of the coloured film is a self adhesive Mylar™ carrier belonging to the group of polyester films. Mylar™ is the registered trademark of the Dupont Company. The material retains its form and is highly transparent when correctly handled. The colouring medium is fade resistant and has excellent resistance to moisture, solvents, detergents etc. In trials, the coloured surface has been artificially aged in a «Xenon Artifical Ageing Chamber» to test colourfastness. The results were assessed using the "Blauwoll Scale" on a scale of 1 to 8 according to DIN 16525 specifications. (DIN is a list of German industry standards.) All colours achieved the values of 7 to 8 under direct U.V. radiation and simultaneous wet ageing. The films are,in addition sealed with a surface protector. This additional laminate absorbs up to 90% of natural U.V. radiation, depending on the degree of latitude before the light touches the actual pigmentation. As the same U.V. filter is intergrated into the Mylar™ carrier, the colouring is securely sealed and protected against outer influences. Further advantages of the the surface sealing are the rich "glass like" gloss and reliable protection of the outer colour against scratches or damage from solvents, glass cleaning agents , etc.
